Coffee Ice Cream (Version 1)

Ingredients:

  • 6 egg yolks

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 2 cups milk

  • 1 vanilla bean split seeded

  • 2 Tbsp. Sonoma Cold brewed coffee 

  • 2 tsp. finely ground coffee


Directions

  1. With a whisk, beat the egg yolks for 2 minutes until smooth.

  2. Add the sugar to the egg yolks and continue to beat for another 2 minutes until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture turns a pale yellow.

  3. Combine milk and vanilla bean in a saucepan and heat in a double boiler until the mixture reaches 180°F. This will form a thick, ribbon like texture.

  4. Strain the mixture.

  5. Add Sonoma Cold brew coffee and ground coffee to the mixture and mix well.

  6. Add mixture to an ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer’s instructions.

  7. Freeze until ready to serve.
